🤖 What 4baseCare Does

Founded in 2019 by Hitesh Goswami and Kshitij Rishi, 4baseCare develops genomics-driven cancer diagnostics and AI-powered clinical decision support tools . The company’s core platform, OncoTwin, uses artificial intelligence to help oncologists derive actionable treatment insights from real-world clinico-genomic and outcomes-linked datasets .

Key Capabilities of OncoTwin:

  • Creates “digital twins” of cancer patients using multimodal data (genomic, pathology, radiology, clinical information)
  • Matches patients with similar treatment journeys and outcomes
  • Supports Molecular Tumor Boards (MTBs) with AI-enhanced intelligence
  • Optimises clinical trial feasibility, patient stratification, and site selection
  • Accelerates biomarker discovery and drug validation

“We are not recommending treatment directly. We are giving doctors real-world evidence of what worked for similar patients across datasets.” — Kshitij Rishi, Co-founder, 4baseCare

🌍 Global Expansion Plans

With the fresh capital, 4baseCare plans to expand its genomics laboratory network into 8-10 additional countries over the next 12-18 months, targeting underserved markets across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Latin America .

“We want precision oncology globally to be more inclusive. Most genomic datasets, drug discovery, and clinical trials are still heavily concentrated in the US and Europe. We are building solutions for under-represented populations across India, the Middle East, southeast Asia, and Latin America.” — Hitesh Goswami, CEO, 4baseCare

The company currently operates labs in India, Dubai, Nepal, and the Philippines, conducting approximately 1,500 genomic tests per month—a figure expected to scale to 8,000-10,000 tests per month with the planned expansion .

🏥 Decentralising Genomic Testing in India

Alongside global expansion, 4baseCare is decentralising genomic testing infrastructure in India through strategic hospital partnerships . The company has recently partnered with:

  • Max Healthcare
  • AIIMS Jammu (Centre for Advanced Genomics & Precision Medicine operationalised in April 2025)
  • Shankara Hospital

In March 2026, 4baseCare also signed an MoU with the Maharashtra Government to establish a Centre of Excellence for Precision Oncology in the state, which will be equipped with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology .

“Rather than having all samples shipped to Bengaluru, we are taking the technology closer to patients and doctors. That improves turnaround time, improves research collaboration, and makes advanced cancer diagnostics more accessible.” — Hitesh Goswami

💰 Making Precision Oncology Affordable

4baseCare has worked on significantly lowering prices, with some offerings costing nearly one-fourth the price of competing solutions . The company eventually aims to have genomic testing covered under public healthcare schemes such as Ayushman Bharat.

The company also runs patient initiatives including the LuNGS Alliance (providing free NGS-biomarker testing for eligible lung cancer patients) and the Hope Initiative with AIIMS Jammu, which aims to make advanced genomic testing more affordable and accessible .

📈 Adoption Beyond Metros

The startup reports that adoption of genomic testing is now spreading beyond metro hospitals into smaller cities, driven partly by affordability initiatives .

“Earlier, most patients were from tier 1 hospitals. Now we are getting samples from Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, and many tier 2 and 3 cities.” — Hitesh Goswami

India sees nearly 15 lakh new cancer cases annually, with around 70% of patients diagnosed at advanced stages where systemic treatments such as targeted therapy and immunotherapy become critical. Genomic testing helps identify molecular changes in tumours and maps patients to more personalised remedies .

💼 Why Infosys Backed 4baseCare

Infosys’s participation in the round is strategic in nature, according to Goswami. The IT giant sees value in 4baseCare’s AI and healthcare data capabilities beyond pure diagnostics .

“Infosys realised that we are not just a diagnostics company. We are building AI solutions on top of healthcare datasets, and that aligns with larger healthcare and AI initiatives they are exploring with enterprise customers.” — Hitesh Goswami

Infosys has been expanding its health tech footprint globally through acquisitions and investments in healthcare data and AI-focused companies.

🔮 The Bigger Picture

Globally, precision oncology has emerged as one of the fastest-growing segments in healthcare AI, as hospitals and pharma companies increasingly use genomic and clinical datasets to personalise cancer treatment . However, most global datasets continue to be dominated by Caucasian populations, limiting treatment insights for emerging markets—a gap 4baseCare is explicitly addressing.

With India’s cancer burden rising and the demand for personalised treatment growing, the company is positioning itself at the intersection of AI, genomics, and inclusive healthcare—building solutions not just for India but for underrepresented populations worldwide.
