In a move of profound strategic significance for India’s technological future, the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has taken a decisive institutional leap into the artificial intelligence race. The institute has officially registered the BharatGen Technology Foundation as its own corporate entity, marking a pivotal shift from academic research to applied, sovereign AI development.
